From the Upper Crabtree community of Haywood County, NC, this bean was given to us by Ben and Clarine Best to grow during the summer of 2008.Grown well over 100 years by the Hill Family, it is also the first bean I remember as a child over 74 years ago because of its many colored beans which I picked from the bottoms of corn stalks while my mother picked the ones higher up. The seeds contain eight distinctive shapes and colors.
