From the collection of Frank Barnett. From about 1890-1920 Many people migrated from the Jackson/Haywood county area of North Carolina to the state of Washington to work in the timber industry. They took their beans with them and many of those bean varieties came to be known as Tarheel Beans after the nickname of the state of North Carolina. This variety is one of those varieties.
