This is a very tender white-seeded bean. Bren Stephens was a banker in Tellico Plains, TN around 1930.He had taken a trip up North to NY and brought these seeds home to Tellico, Tennessee. He passed the seeds out to people there and they are saving them still today. We received this background information from Katie McDaniel, who is from Tellico. Her 96 year old grandmother Ruie Walker grew the Bren Stephens bean and passed the love of them on down to her granddaughter.
